Biography

Anna Feu was born in Barcelona.  She studied singing at the Liceu Conservatory of Music (Barcelona), graduating with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Singing and with a Piano Teacher´s Certificate. Afterwards she continued Post Graduate studies in Switzerland and Austria, under the direction of renowned teachers as C.M. Lluna, K. Widmer and C. Saaner...


She also holds a university degree in Classical Languages by the “Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona” (U.A.B.).


In recent years Anna Feu has sung in numerous stages for festivals and during opera seasons. She has performed as the lead singer in the following operas: “The Magic Flute” (Pamima)  “Cosi Fan Tutte” (Despina), “Die Entführung auf dem Serail” (Blonde), W.A. Mozart; “Il Barbiere de Siviglia” (Rosina), G. Pasiello; “II Matrimonio Segretto” (Elisetta), D. Cimarosa; “Giulio Cesare” (Cleopatra), G.F. Haendel; “Der Schauspieldirektor” (Mme. Herz and Mlle Silberklang), W.A. Mozart; “Prima la Música e Poi le Parole” (Tonina), A. Salieri; “Die Fledermauss” (Adele), etc., and recently she sang  “Manon” in France with great public acclaim and review success.


As a soprano soloist, she has sung in numerous oratorios: “Mass in C minor”, “Requiem and Coronation Mass”, W.A. Mozart; “Te Deum”, M. A Charpentier; “Carmina Burana”, Karl Orff; “Magnifcat and Cafe Cantata”, J. S. Bach; “Messiah”, G.F. Haendel; “Requiem”, G. Fauré; “Himne”, F. Mendelsohn, “Requiem”, X. Montsalvatge; “King David”, A. Honneger, etc.


Performing as soprano soloist she has worked with directors such as Lawrence Foster, Andrew Parrot, F. Paul Decker, S. Brotons, F. Guillen, A. Argudo, R. Groba, and with orchestras such as the Lisbon F.K. Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National of Catalonia, the Valles Symphony Orchestra, the Granollers Camera Orchestra, the Minsk Camera Orchestra, the French  Belfort Instrument Ensemble, the Galician Camera Orchestra.


She has sung as soloist in the Barcelona Auditorium Inaugural Concert with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National of Catalonia, under the direction of Lawrence Foster, and toured three times, with the same orchestra and director, through Romania, Europe and the N. American East Coast.


She has performed in prestigious concert halls such as New York’s “Carnegie Hall”, Amsterdam’s “Contcergebouw”, Washington’s “J.F. Kennedy Center Concert Hall”, Lisbon’s “Gulbelkian Auditorium”, Barcelona’s “Gran Teatro del Liceo”, Sevilla’s “La Maestranza” and Barcelona’s  “Palau de la Música Catalana”, among others.


As lieder-singer she has performed works of modern compositors and has premiered works of A. Guinovart, J. Homs, S. Brotons, R. Groba in concert cycles such as “Mas i Mas”, the “Anna Ricci Cycle” (2007, 2008, 2012) or the Contemporary Music Festival  at the “Amira de la Rosa” theatre, Barranquilla (Colombia), June, 2012.


She has performed Spanish, French and South American music recitals in European festivals such as the “Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival”, “Les Musicales Clairgoutte et du Rahin Cherimont” and “Vocalises” (2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014) among others, and has premiered with a “Zarzuela” concert at the “Avignon Festival” in 2012 with great public and review success.


She has worked, among others, with stage directors such as Mario Gas in the “Little Night Music” musical, premiered at the “Peralada Festival” and later performed during a season in Barcelona and Madrid; and she has also worked for 6 years with Joan Font, in the role of Pamina, in “The Magic Flute”, a production at the “Gran Teatro del Liceo”.


She has premiered at “Petit Palau” unpublished works of R. Groba for soprano and orchestra with the “Galicia Camera Orchestra”.


Anna Feu has recorded for TV3, Chanel 33, TVE, Catalunya Radio, Radio France, Bayerische Rundfunk. She has also recorded S. Sonheim’s “Little Night Music” in Catalan.
